Sorry I've been quiet on LJ for so long. As some of you already know, I've been kind of busy (and consequently staggeringly tired) making something. It's still very small, but I'm still working on it non-stop (whether I like it or not) & it should be making its debut some time around the end of March next year...

Can you guess what it is yet?Collapse )

Oh, wow! Many congratulations, and all waves of good health.

Hooray!

I assume those Japanese spammers are congratulating you too.

I will probably be in Oxford on the 15th, 16th and 17th learning how to overthrow capitalism, and I was thinking it would be great to meet up with you and Owen (I assume the UCU is going to allow me out of Wolfson College at least some of the time).

Hurrah! It would be great to meet up. Please let us know how to overthrow capitalism, too. The only thing UCU has managed to overthrow so far AFAICT is my inbox.

I went to put "nja in Oxford" in my calendar, only to find that addedentry-who-doesn't-do-LJ-any-more-yeah-right had already done so. 8-) So we should definitely be around then.

Congratulations! (and I guess it is a normal position for a very small person, but your very small person still looks a bit like they are curled up with a book)

Inside of a <lj user="j4">, it's too dark to read.

Hee hee! If only -- it was actually waving its arms and legs around all over the place. I suspect once I start feeling it move I'm going to be black and blue. :-}

Hurray! And I hope the sickness continues to improve.

Am I allowed to knit/crochet something in a less objectionable colour?
j4 From: j4 Date: November 2nd, 2010 10:49 am (UTC) (Link)
Aww - you're welcome to knit something if you want an excuse to knit little things :) & I'm sure it'd be lovely, but my grandma has already knitted enough to clothe a small army, so no obligation!
jvvw From: jvvw Date: November 2nd, 2010 10:53 am (UTC) (Link)
Congratulations - wonderful news! Hope the morning sickness continues to ease off.

And welcome to the world of people giving you advice that you have heard 20 times before :-)
j4 From: j4 Date: November 2nd, 2010 11:49 am (UTC) (Link)
Ah yes, the advice... Fortunately I already learned from wedding-planning to ignore any advice that begins "You've got to...", because about 99 times out of 100 you totally haven't "got to" do it at all, & the other time it's something blindingly obvious that you're already doing or already planning to do.

There may be a blog post about this coming up, if I can make it not sound ungrateful & ranty. :-}

Hooray! Pictures of small proto-person!
(What about knitwear in exactly equal proportions of pastel blue and pastel pink, stripes or something, to confound onlookers?)
j4 From: j4 Date: November 2nd, 2010 11:43 am (UTC) (Link)
:) Blue & pink stripes sounds quite cool actually. Fortunately there are also lots of colours that are neither pink nor blue (my grandma has already knitted lots of baby clothes for us in e.g. white, green, purple, yellow...).
