Hum. I see where you're coming from with the analysis of what they were doing, but it was still a complete turn-off for me.

I'm sure it's great for kids, but I think that's generally part of the problem with Doctor Who for me: I didn't watch it as a child, so when I watch it now I'm basically watching kids' TV as a grown-up but without that warm fuzzy haze of nostalgic affection which would smooth out the clunky bits and make me feel more tolerant of the stupid bits.

Sorry, I don't mean to be mean about something you love... :-} addedentry is a huge fan & has also tried to convert me (though he did this by making me watch some dreadful old episodes of it from the dark ages which I think I actually fell asleep in the middle of...) but I just Don't Get It.

There are social satire aspects which, althoguh childlike in their execution, are the parts I enjoy the most.
