Got up and went
Hello! I'm not dead. But I do seem to have lost my LiveJournal mojo a bit. I have plans for Strategies for sorting this out. But for now, as an example of the way my exciting life is pottering along, this weekend (starting from Friday night) I have:

- been to a gig (Daedelus, at the Luminaire in Kilburn; review to follow...)
- been to a play (of sorts: "Potted Potter", all the Harry Potter books in 60 minutes; review to follow for that, too, hopefully...)
- nearly scored a goal in Quidditch as part of the above :-)
- met up with smallbeds and rgl for a coffee
- played Boggle in the Far From The Madding Crowd
- written some perl (for work)
- finished reading two books
- sorted out a stack of documentation, mostly car-related
- tried to register for an OU course in digital photography (need to phone them tomorrow, their online registration is rubbish)
- got all my personal email inboxes down to under 100 (but not my work one)
- emailed one friend and phoned another, both of whom been meaning to phone/email for about 2 months
- fixed my mac laptop (which had decided it didn't want to have a Bluetooth thingy any more)
- got my mac to sync with my phone at last
- phoned my parents
- catalogued some more of our books on LibraryThing

I rather feel as though I'm always busy and never actually getting very much done. I also feel as though I'm losing touch with people a lot, though I'm delighted that so many more people are on Facebook now -- I do find it a good way of keeping people on my radar. So this is a sort of LJ keeping-in-touch amnesty: if you feel neglected or not-kept-in-touch-with or you just want a reply to something, please comment here, and I promise I will reply to your comment.

Beer and scrabble at the harcourt. *sigh* Sometimes I miss Oxford!

(Mostly I'm pretty happy in Cambridge mind :-)

Hello, hello, hello: what time do you expect to be there?
j4 From: j4 Date: September 19th, 2007 02:05 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thank you! I've said I'll go for drinks with colleagues after work, but that probably won't go on too late so I will try to come along to the Harcourt when I can...

Oh, is that the digital photography one I just signed up for -- T189? Cool!
j4 From: j4 Date: September 19th, 2007 02:06 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yep, that's the one. Cool! Does this mean I can ask you for help with my homework? :-D

*grin* I'm not sure I'll be the best one to ask after the AT272 debacle, but we can at least admire one another's photos ;)

When are you next in London?
j4 From: j4 Date: September 19th, 2007 02:09 pm (UTC) (Link)
The next time I know we're going to be in London is 20th October, evening thereof, for a gig. Then 28th October, for, er, another gig. Are you likely to be around earlier-than-gig-time on either/both of those days? Haven't seen you for aeons & it would be great to meet up!

Late lunch on the 29th sounds good. I'll have a quick word with Ewt.

There's no need to apologise.

It's just that I felt like I'd neglected my friends somewhat, & I reckon that merits an apology.

I could always fill these gaps and write reams about my observations and half-baked theories of Why Things Are As They Are, but who has time to wade through that on a daily basis eh?

*shrug* I reckon that if people want to read what I want to write then they'll find the time to do so, & if they're not interested and/or don't have time then they won't...

Hello! I'm not dead.

Hooray! This week I am mostly installing 60 identical Linux boxes and putting them in storage because the lab hasn't been wired up yet despite my being told it would be finished by the end of last week.

Hello! I am also being very busy at the moment. I should visit Oxford though, since I've been to Cambridge twice recently.

While I'm not feeling particularly neglected, I did want to say I am thinking of you. *hug*hug*hug* Some more articulate expression of said sentiment may well follow when I finsih shaking off this head cold and catch up on not having had a full night's sleep for a fortnight.

Hi - you were on my mind a coupl of days ago because the B&B I was staying at in Trebetherick (darkest north Cornwall) had, per its information, BADGERS! They're been feeding them for long enough that they will now come up and eat out of your hand.

It was a lovely B&B too - see my LJ for details.
