Badgered again
Opening some mail which turned up a few days ago (okay, okay, the house is a mess, my life is a mess, mail sits around unopened for days) I found that somebody had sent me the first-day-covers of a series of stamps featuring woodland animals, which included -- you guessed it -- a very cute badger.

Why do people keep sending me anonymous gifts? It's lovely of them but I wish I knew who to thank!

Becasue you're lovely.

Oh, I know that :-) but why anonymous gifts?

(Anyway, if it was you, thank you!)

Badger!

(definitly not me; although I might've done in this case if I'd seen it...)

Indeed. "Yay" and "woo" and "BADGER BADGER BADGER". :-)

New badger needs a name!

Well why are none of your badgers called Len, in honour of legendary Sheff United fullback of the 1960s and 1970s, Len Badger?

Cos that's football, and I'm a gurl. :-)

There is a Dr Anthony Badger at Cambridge, I believe. I could name a badger after him, but it would be silly to have a badger called "Doctor".

Call him 'Noakes'. Or if it's a she, call her 'Valerie'.

I wish I'd thought of that! But no, it's not me: I don't think I've ever given an anonymous gift to anyone.
