Badge(r)
Big badgery thanks to the person who sent me a badge with a (hand-drawn?) badger on it! Oxford postmark, so I've narrowed the suspects down a bit, but I don't recognise the handwriting...

Sorry for the delay, but we had a postal strike. Remember I emailed you for your address?

Memory like a, um, y'know...

You know, when I saw your (LJ) name in my inbox with a comments mail, I immediately thought "Ah! I do know who it was from..."

Sorry, I am a dozy moo. But thank you very much for the badge(r). It is very cool. :)

There is, on the road between Oxfnord and Swindon, a warning sigh - 'Badgers for 2 miles'. (Exact wording not guaranteed.)

Since the next two miles comprise the built up area of the village of Stone, I'm wondering why. Perhaps they really meant 'Mental patients for 2 miles'.

Between Oxford and Swindon? That's almost worth a detour next time I visit the land of the fnords...

What's with Stone and mental patients? And don't you get urban badgers, like urban foxes? (Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?)

Serendipitous typos: for some reason I really like the idea of a "warning sigh". :)

brainfart - I was halfway asleep when I wrote it, and three quarters when I realised the error.

Between Oxfnord and Aylesbury. I was driving from Swindon.

As for the mental patients - I dunno, but it's the thing for which I know Stone. My father spent a while there.

Urban foxes - yes. Urban hedgehogs - well, we nearly ran over one on our street the other day. But I've never heard of urban badgers.
