"Connection refused."

I got to the bloody booking form too.

AARGH.

I can't get anywhere near the web form.

Currently wondering if I could phone on the mobile with my other hand...

Or if I'd be better off just setting my alarm clock for 4am and trying then; though they'll have probably sold out by then. :-(

I wouldn't be so worried but I'm trying to get tickets for lusercop as well as me, and I can't let him down. :-(

- A (not going to get any sleep at all, feeling very ill)

I am trying for tickets for me & sheep, then for Jo and Andrew, and then for my little sister. I may be late into work tomorrow. :)

This is making me very, very unhappy. I can't deal with stress at the best of times, and i feel like a total wretch letting matthew down having got to the booking pages...
marnameow From: marnameow Date: April 1st, 2004 12:51 pm (UTC) (Link)
It's not *your* fault, though. We none of us can get through - I reckon it's all a bit broken and barely anyone is managing to get through. It's not your fault if you can't get him a ticket - it's not like you're not trying your best.

I think the website is *dead*, and the phone might be better.

Same here.

There's nothing more you could be doing, so I don't see how you can be "letting him down"! Why couldn't he do it himself, anyway? Or both of you try?

I really do think the webshite is buggered. I can't even ping www.wayahead-secure.co.uk. Phone is 0870 830 2004, which I can now sing just like a tone-phone. Boop dee doop boop dee dum boop doo boop boop dum.

He was unavoidably detained, I think... and I am letting him down. I got to the form, if I didn't type fast enough there or whatever that *is* my fault.
j4 From: j4 Date: April 1st, 2004 01:19 pm (UTC) (Link)
FFS, it's not about typing fast, it's about the fact that 300,000 other people are trying to get in at the same time! If he couldn't have managed to buy his own tickets anyway, then even if you can't get any he's no worse off than he would've been otherwise, is he.

And personally I think it's rotten of him to make you do it when he knows how stressed you get about things like this.

I be bored and hungry. Sheep is cooking me food. I am sitting on the floor pressing redial and refresh. The cats are helping by walking on the phone and the keyboard.
j4 From: j4 Date: April 1st, 2004 12:08 pm (UTC) (Link)
At least you're going to have some food eventually. I should've eaten beforehand, but I thought I'd get through sooner than this. sion_a has gone to the pub, I probably won't eat tonight. Or sleep, at this rate.

Bloody redial! You'd think they could just have a queue, wouldn't you. I mean, then we could just handsfree and get on with something else.
sion_a From: sion_a Date: April 2nd, 2004 01:52 am (UTC) (Link)
Social reasons for not having a queue:
  1. It's "fairer" in some sense in that a queue guarantees success for the first people to phone, whereas no queue gives each call an equal chance (of course, doing what you've been doing gives you a better chance because you've been making a lot of calls).
  2. If people were stuck on hold they'd run up enormous phone bills.
I think the solution would if they had some kind of call-waiting-like mechanism where if they're busy you get a ring tone, which has the social properties of engaged but means you only have to redial every 20minutes when your service provider times you out.

Oh, and your tuna baguette is in the fridge.

The aloud.com site was really slow before 8pm, and pretty much ground to a halt at 8.

If you want to give the web a try, the booking page for UK citizens is here. I've been waiting half an hour now for the form to submit :-(

Waaaaaaah.

I hope this doesn't mean what I think it might mean.

Re: Waaaaaaah.

I don't think it does. I've been getting it for the last half hour, and the aloud website isn't saying anything about sold-out-ness yet.
