Presolutions
A belated Happy New Year to all my readers!

New Year's Resolutions so far:

0. Post New Year's Resolutions to LiveJournal before the end of January.

(The rest are not considered legally binding until/unless I've posted them in public.)

It is not going well on the Actually Getting Things Done front so far this year, though. I blame the snow. Well, I don't really, I blame myself, but hey.

My brain wants to interpret "presolution" as "problem", although then "resolution" would be "reinventing the wheel".

I was thinking of pre-resolution... and knew it didn't quite work... but decided what the hell, post it anyway. That's my new ruthless get-things-done mentality, that is. Guaranteed to last for about 2 seconds ... where was I?

Oh, I saw what you were doing with the wordplay, and it's the sort of title I'd have used if I'd made this post :-) It just brought up the other associations as well, is all. (And who says words can only have one meaning, anyway?)

Thing 1: started running again
Thing 2: sang Spem in Alium
Thing 3: kept VG sane at dinner thereby being very, very kind, instead of mingling with other people and widening your social circle.

There. Actual Things Done and Attested To By Independent Observers. (I have photos, you know.)

Thing 4: made Venta, who has also not posted her NYRs or done much about them, feel better :)

It may be that the purpose of my life is to serve as a warning to others. :-}

Oh, I was thinking of it more as causing a warm, fuzzy sense of community. But if you fancy being a Terrible Example And A Dire Warning we can probably work it in somewhere.

With diagrams and illustrative photos?

Coo er gosh. ;)

Also, unrelated to this post, but thank you very much for the jigsaw! We managed to complete it :-) and here's the evidence.

1. True, I guess. One of my NYRs was to go running at least once a week, though I missed last week because of snow (I don't count that as a failure, just a shame).

2. Yes! That should be a resolution every year. :-) Thank you again for inviting me!

3. I stayed talking to you because I wanted to talk to you! I worried that I was being selfish in stopping you mingling (which I'm sure you could have done even with child in tow, especially given how well-behaved he was).

Though I do think Getting Things Done is different from Doing Things, if you see what I mean. I have done lots of things, but there are things on my List which are persistently Not Getting Done due to me not Sitting Down And Doing Them. Ho hum.
