Jo Brand, in response to a lack of slang terms for what you might call jilling off, once came up with the term "gusset typing". As a sniggering teenager I was quite amused by this, and as a sniggering adult geek I am even more amused and delighted to see that someone has apparently made the metaphor real.

Ah, explanation is needed? Okay IBM Thinkpads didn't have a trackball or trackpad, they had a little 'nipple' that you applied a directional force to which looked like

I seem to have remembered the phrase from that article (in the Indy) as 'crotch typing' but gusset works just as well. It's entirely possible she reused the joke more than once, of course.

I can't use my normal 'typing' icon in response to this, it's all sorts of Bad and Wrong.
