Caius 'r' good
Hurrah!

[Edit: Damn, I didn't realise he'd locked it. In summary: good news about addedentry's career which you can hopefully guess from the subject line.]

Can you get them to improve the standard of food at Caius hall from "not quite as bad as it was when I first ate there in 1998 but still has trouble passing a UN weapons inspection" to something actually edible, whilst you're a mole on the inside?

Oh, the staff get all the good stuff: the students get the leftovers.

I know. Not that I bear any grudges about this.

*mutter*

1998? You may have missed the delights of Green Goo Pie for dessert... That said, my sources tell me Hall has improved a little since I was an undergrad there (1996-99)...

Let's see... it would have been April 1998, immediately after the Easter break, that I first went to Caius hall. A couple of us went up to visit, arranged by my English teacher using the old boys network cunning and guile. And lo, hall was rank. I was told it improved markedly when they stopped doing a separate fish alternative. Still wasn't very good though when I was an undergrad there (for seventeen million years).

Yup, Caius did that to me when I went there for my interview. Shortly after eating some sort of pie filled with crunchy porous grey bits in a sort of goo, I was asked 'So, why do you want to come to Caius?'.

I still have mounds of Caius compulsory dinner tickets I didn't use.

Did they still have chicken a la spunk in your day?

*phear*. No, that one's new to me. Lots of memories of Coqed-up au vin though.

It's believed that the fish pancakes with custard (circa 1987) were an accident ...

For some reason, I can read the entry but it doesn't appear in my lists of friends entries even though I'm logged on.

I can see it on your Friends page ... just LiveJournal being temperamental, I suspect.
From: hsenag Date: November 29th, 2005 01:20 pm (UTC) (Link)
FWIW, I could originally see it on my friends page, but then it temporarily disappeared, at about the same time as j4 posted her link to it (i.e. I never saw the two together until just now). But I guess it was just LJ being temperamental.

Yay! You see more of him, and less knackered...

Now flog the flat to some benighted London commuter and move somewhere really, really inconvenient for the station.
